Cecile Yu's Having a Very Happy New Year! After New Reflections Surgery, she lost 130 pounds!

Maybe you've seen Cecile Yu in our new television commercials. If so, you know she's got an amazing story to tell.

After suffering with weight problems that started in childhood, Cecile grew tired of diets that didn't work. When her mother began having complications from diabetes, Cecile started researching gastric bypass surgery. Then a friend told her about the New Reflections surgeon, Dr. Martinez.

"My friend said he's an awesome, awesome doctor and she should know because she had the surgery and he was the surgeon," said Cecile.

That's when Cecile made the decision to come to New Reflections. She had gastric bypass surgery in June of 2004 and today she's 130 pounds lighter.

"My outlook on life has totally changed. Every morning that I wake up I'm excited to get dressed, to go to work, to meet people, to go partying. I no longer have to hide. I feel like a new person," says Cecile.

After her weight loss, her shortness of breath and knee problems disappeared, and she has more energy for everyday life.

cecile"I can do pretty much anything I want! I can go whitewater rafting. I do crunches, park on the far side of parking lots just for the exercise and I run 2 miles every single day. I feel great!"

It's been more than three and a half years since Cecile's surgery. Looking back, she says the decision to have surgery was the right one for her.

"It's almost like I was reborn after the surgery. I have a new life. I'm having a lot of fun, I feel good. I definitely did the right thing."

She says she came to the right place for surgery too.
